Toyota Leaf Spring Swap Kit with Missing Link Shackles for Suzuki Samurai

Add upgraded axles or heavy wheels and tires and you will quickly outgrow stock Samurai leaf springs. Low Range Off-Road's Toyota Leaf Spring Swap Kit with Missing Link Shackles is our favorite spring swap kit for the off-road purposed Suzuki Samurai. This kit allows you to install front leaf springs from 1979-1985 Toyota Pickups and 4Runners on the front of your Samurai. For many of our customers, Toyota springs are more readily available than Jeep YJ springs. Of course, availability is not the only reason to consider a Toyota spring swap.

Toyota springs are the natural choice when installing a Toyota front axle on your Samurai. Using our kit, you can complete a Toyota axle conversion without ever unbolting the springs from the donor axle. But this kit also works with Samurai axles. How is that possible?

Toyota truck axles and Samurai axles differ in width by only 3/8". Our shackles use a combination of CNC laser cut shackle washers that accommodate both axle widths. When switching from Samurai axles to Toyota axles the washers just change from one side of the spring hangers to another. If you plan to upgrade your axles in the future, this is the kit for you. Simply change washer orientation and swap your Toyota Axles.

Toyota axle installation requires the use of either OEM U-bolts and U-bolt Plates or a Toyota U-Bolt Flip Kit. Samurai spring plates can not be used on Toyota axles.

This kit offers better handling characteristics than typically achieved with Samurai springs. Toyota springs are noted for incredible flexibility compared to factory Samurai springs. Toyota springs are longer and wider than Samurai springs and provide improved roll axis stability.

This kit generally yields about 2.5" of lift over a standard SPOA (Spring Over Axle) lift, for about 7.5" of total lift. This is great for 33" Tires.

Extended U-bolts.
Toyota Front Leaf Springs from a 1982-1985 Toyota Solid Axle Hilux Pickup, 4Runner, or Surf.
Extended Brake Lines.
Axle Spring Pads for Spring Over Axle (SPOA).
Crossover Steering Kit.
Lower Shock Mounts.
Upper Shock Mounts.
Shocks.
Driveline Extension or Extended Drivelines.

To Finish Front Suspension with a Toyota Axle you would need:

U-bolt Flip Kit.
Toyota Front Leaf Springs from a 1979-1985 Toyota Solid Axle Hilux Pickup, 4Runner, Surf available at Low Range Off Road.
Toyota Extended Brake Lines.
Suzuki Steering Box to Toyota Axle Crossover Steering Kit or a Toyota IFS Steering Box to Toyota Axle Crossover Steering Kit if using a Toyota steering box.
Use Factory Toyota Shock Mounts or Creeper Gusset / Shock Mount.
Use DIY Suzuki Samurai Front Upper Shock Hoops or Low Range Front Formed Shock Mounts.

All products carry our 12 Month Limited Warranty. All warranties are limited to the original purchaser and are not transferable to subsequent owners of the product. The warranty period begins on the purchase date. Trail-Gear warrants that it will repair or replace, free of charge, any eligible product which, under normal conditions of use and service, proves to be defective in materials or workmanship. This warranty does not cover any labor costs incurred in diagnosis of defects, removal or reinstallation of a product, nor does it cover any other consequential expenses.

Warranty Exclusions

Trail-Gear Inc. warranty does not cover, and Trail-Gear Inc. shall not be liable for, any undertaking, representation, or agreements made by dealers or other third parties selling Trail-Gear products, except where such agreements are within the provisions of this Warranty.

Specifically excluded from this warranty are failures caused by lack of maintenance, misuse, negligence, modification, abuse, improper application, crash damage, installation or operation, or failures caused by unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

Additionally excluded from this warranty are parts which are subject to normal wear and tear, such as bushings, fluids, hoses, gaskets, belts, etc. Products not manufactured by Trail-Gear Inc. are excluded from any warranty and shall be handled with the original manufacturer.

All parts used in a competitive racing environment are excluded from this warranty. If, after inspection, a part returned, under any warranty, is deemed to be ineligible for warranty repair or replacement, the part may be repaired or replaced for a discounted cost. Return shipping charges will apply. Any part for which a warranty replacement is sought must be returned to Trail-Gear Inc. before any replacement items can be shipped. All replacement parts shipped before the suspect part has been received and evaluated by Trail-Gear, MUST BE PAID IN FULL. In such a case, after the suspect part has been received and approved for a warranty replacement, the purchase price for the replacement will be refunded.

All warranties are generally processed within 2-3 business days of Trail-Gear receiving the parts from you. Additional delays may be incurred if product needs additional testing or repairing.

If you are an international customer, please email the warranty department at sales@trail-gear.com to receive further instruction. International customers may have the option to field destroy an approved warranty to avoid costly return shipping. In this case, any shipping charges for replacement parts will be at the expense of the customer.
