For 20 years, Trail-Gear has been built by the off-road community.
I started Trail-Gear in 2005 as a wheeler who wanted better parts. Parts that worked, were affordable, and could be trusted on my own rig. Twenty years later, I know Trail-Gear was never built by one person. It was built by the entire off-road community. Every customer, dealer, build, and piece of feedback helped shape who we are.
This one verse continues to guide us: “To the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8. To me, that means never settling and always pushing farther. If you have ever run our parts or believed in what we build, you are part of this story. Thank you for 20 years of trust and trail-proven strength.

Trail-Gear: A 20-year Journey
Trail-Gear started with the frustrations of an ordinary Toyota wheeler back in 2004.
Matt Messer, our founder and CEO, was ready to put high steer on his 1985 Pickup rock crawler. Back then, there weren’t many companies that made aftermarket parts for Toyota. After paying a lot of money and waiting 3 months, he finally received his high steer kit. Matt was a seasoned engineer and knew how things were made. Looking over the parts he received, he knew that they shouldn’t cost that much or take that long to make. That was the first time he imagined the vision: an Off-Road supply company that specialized in tough, hardcore rock crawling parts, always kept them in stock, and sold them at a fair price. READ MORE
