Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary

Performs basic engineering assignments usually associated with product support, research, development, or manufacturing.

Principal Duties

  • Design and development of new product
  • Engineering Testing
  • Design test equipment or assembly equipment as needed for ECN projects
  • Answer any customer technical phone calls and customer new part request and design/drawings
  • Directs and coordinates rework of technicians; revises who assist in specific assignments
  • Determines engineering approval of First Article parts and non-conforming material
  • Works with customers and suppliers to identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Applies standard engineering techniques, analysis, procedures, and criteria in specific situations
  • Reduces and correlates data
  • Recognizes discrepancies in results
  • Investigate problems, identify optimal solutions, and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering discipline
  • 2 years of related experience is preferred
  • Ability to use hand & power tools
  • Basic automotive knowledge

Skills Required

  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in a team development
  • Knowledge of principles and theories of the engineering profession
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Highly Proficient computer skills; including MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet
  • Advanced Solid Works skills
  • Welding and fabrication skills preferred
  • Knowledge of Toyota Pickup, 4Runner, and/or Tacoma vehicles preferred

Other

  • Resolution of all supplier problems relating to engineering
  • Resolution of all customer problems relating to design
